From 1 October 2024, any applications for courses starting in 2025 will require a new application form and new application fee.  To close a previous application to enable you to re-apply for 2025, please email applications@lawcabs.ac.uk

Notice

GDL, SQE and LPC applications are eligible for a single application fee.  Contact us if you have paid an application fee between 1 Oct 2024 - 30 Sept 2025 for academic year 2025/26 and wish to submit a new application for a different course.

Converting to law?

If you want to qualify in law, or have not yet decided which route you want to take, a law conversion course (such as a GDL, PGDL, MA Law, LLM law conversion) is a great entry point.

With a solid academic foundation in law, the path is open to continue your journey towards qualification in the legal profession, as a solicitor, barrister, CILEX lawyer or costs lawyer.

What is the difference between the LPC and SQE?

 

Although some people still eligible for the LPC, from 1 September 2021 anyone starting out on their journey to qualifying as a solicitor has to follow the SQE route.

How do I choose an SQE preparation course?

 

The SQE assessments are difficult to pass and you need to ensure that you are well prepared. There are a variety of courses coming to the market to help with this, ranging from full-time diploma and master’s courses to shorter SQE assessment preparation courses.
